What Should an AI Automation Audit Contain?
An audit is worth paying for when it ends in a decision: which task first, what changes, and what to do on Monday. Here is how to tell before you buy.
What you should hold in your hands at the end
A short list of tasks, not a strategy deck. For each task: how it is done today, how it would run once automated, what you gain, how hard it is to build, and the first action to take. A ranking, so you know which one to start with. And a plain statement of where a person still has to approve.
Four questions to ask before paying
Can I see a sample of the report? What do you read to produce it: my website, my documents, interviews with my team? Who or what writes it: a consultant, a junior, an AI system? If I go ahead with a project afterwards, is the audit price deducted?
A seller who answers all four in writing is easier to hold to account than one who answers on a call.
Human audit or automated audit
A consultant-led audit includes interviews with the people who do the work. It sees what is not written anywhere, and it takes days or weeks.
